২. পাঠৰ সাৰাংশ (Lesson Summary)

Robinson Crusoe was an English mariner and adventurer. During one of his voyages, his ship was violently destroyed in a storm. Luckily, Crusoe survived and washed ashore on a lonely, uninhabited island, where he lived for twenty-eight eventful years. He kept a detailed journal recording his daily survival and experiences.

This lesson shares an extract from his journal about a terrifying day of natural disasters. While standing at the entrance of his cave, pieces of earth from the roof began to fall. Realizing it was a violent earthquake, Crusoe rushed out into the open to avoid being buried alive. The ground shook so violently that he dropped on his hands and knees. Three massive shocks occurred, and a huge cliff rock fell into the sea with a deafening crash. The underwater tremors made the ocean violent, covering it in foam. Soon, the sky turned pitch black and a fierce hurricane struck the island, uprooting trees. When the storm subsided, torrential rain poured down. Crusoe took shelter in his tent and later safely returned to the cave once the tremors stopped, celebrating his miraculous survival from a day of intense adventure.
